About Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS)

Oral and maxillofacial surgery is a specialty of the dental profession in much the same way that orthopedic surgery is a specialty of the medical profession. Oral surgeons complete an additional four to six years of hospital-based residency training beyond the four years of general dental training. As part of their specialty training, they study such diverse areas as anesthesia, head and neck surgery, pathology, trauma, and radiology.

We the OMS team of Tri-County Oral Facial Surgeons are here to provide the finest quality oral and maxillofacial surgical care in a friendly, caring, safe, and healing environment.

Practice History

Dr. Thomas Nardozzo established our practice in 1962 with the objective of providing comprehensive oral and maxillofacial care to Centre, Mifflin and Clinton counties. Dr. Lawrence Denney joined the practice in 1972 and has just recently retired. Dr. Barry Stein has been in continual practice since 1980. Dr. Stephen Engroff, a recent fellow on Oral and Maxillofacial Oncology at the University of Maryland Dental School, is the newest addition to our practice as of 2003. Together our doctors are the leading providers of comprehensive oral and maxillofacial care to the Central Pennsylvania region with an extensive base of referring dentists, physicians and patients.
