Instructions for Homecare Following Sinus Opening

  • Avoid blowing your nose, you may experience slight nasal oozing this is normal,
  • When you rinse your mouth you may feel some fluid come out of your nose.
  • NO SMOKING: this will decay the closure.
  • Most small sinus perforations will close all by them self.
  • Take the antibiotics as prescribed, if nasal spray and decongestions were prescribed use as directed.
  • Avoid the use of a straw; if you need to sneeze do this with out trying to keep your mouth closed.
  • Return for follow-up as suggested.
